We provide a wide range of examinations, from comprehensive oral examinations and routine periodic exams at your cleanings, to the unfortunate, but sometimes necessary, problem-based limited exams.  We also provide all types of digital radiographs (X-rays), which require significantly less radiation than traditional
film X-rays.

When the unwanted dental caries (cavities) sometimes happen, we must remove the bad part of the tooth and replace it with a filling material.  We use resin fillings (tooth-colored) and sometimes amalgam fillings (silver).

We recommend two prophylactic cleanings per year for all patients. Sometimes, however, it becomes necessary to do more than this. Periodontal disease (gum disease) can happen for a variety of reasons.  For those who experience this problem, we offer many of the services necessary to treat this disease, whether it be scaling and root planing (deep cleaning) to more frequent cleanings.  If the treatment needed is beyond this, we can refer to a periodontist (gum surgeon).

When there is a significant portion of the tooth missing, whether it is from a cavity or break, it may become necessary to place a crown (cap) on the tooth.  To do this, we trim the tooth down and take an impression (a mould) of the tooth to fabricate a crown, usually from a type of tooth-colored porcelain. We try to match the shade perfectly to the surrounding teeth, sometimes doing personalized, in-office custom staining of the porcelain.

Veneers are typically used to improve the appearance of the more visible teeth in the front of the mouth.  Whether it is to close spaces between teeth, improve the overall shape, lighten the shade of the teeth, or a combination of all three, veneers are done by removing a small amount of tooth structure to create room for attaching a porcelain veneer.

If a tooth becomes broken beyond the point of fixing or develops an abscess (infection), it may become necessary to extract the tooth.  We do our best to make this experience as easy as possible for the patient. We also refer to an oral surgeon if necessary.

For millions of Americans who are missing some or all of their teeth, partial and complete dentures are a great way to restore function and aesthetics.  We go through all the steps necessary to make the best-looking and best-fitting denture possible.

We realize that dental work is not on the top of most people’s list of favorite things. Because of this, we try to make the experience as easy as possible with a laid-back, easy-going office where anyone can feel at home.  For the times when this is not enough, we offer nitrous oxide (laughing gas) as a way to reduce anxiety and in some select instances where the patient’s overall health allows, we can prescribe anxiolytic medications similar to Valium to help make the dental visit easier.
